At Diamond Youth Development, we believe that every young girl of color has the potential to shine brilliantly. We're on a mission to empower, inspire, and enrich the lives of girls aged 9-14 in Rutherford County, TN. Our programs are designed to foster character, celebrate culture, boost confidence, and strengthen our community. Our Goals
Building Confidence
We strive to close the confidence gap between girls and boys in the same age group. Through our programs, we help girls develop the self-assurance they need to succeed in all aspects of life.
Exploring STEM and Career Opportunities
We introduce girls to STEM-based learning and career choices, opening doors to exciting and rewarding future possibilities.
Fostering Community Engagement
Our participants are encouraged to create and engage in community service opportunities, teaching them the value of giving back and making a difference.
Cultural Pride
Our programs instill pride in the African American culture. Participants become well-versed in the rich history and heritage of our roots, fostering a deep sense of identity and belonging.
Academic Excellence Achievement
We aim to see our participants achieve higher grades in school by providing them with tools for success, mentorship, and a supportive learning environment.
Mental Well-being
We create a safe and supportive space for middle school-age girls of color to share their stories, receive mentorship, and develop the mental resilience needed to thrive.
